Trainer : Gordon Elliot
Stable : Cullentra House Stable
Location : Longwood, Co Meath
Bio : Gordon Elliott began his horse racing journey at the young age of just 13 working for Tony Martin, before getting his jockey licence at just 16. As a jockey Gordon managed to ride 2 cheltenham festival winners himself along with 5 winners in America. He turned to training the horses at the age of just 28 and his aim was to take over the Irish national hunt scene. It began just a year later where he won the Aintree Grand National with 33/1 outsider Silver Birch ridden by Robbie Power.
Since then he has gone from strength to strength, managing to close the gap on Willie Mullins in the trainers championship and in the process acquired a battalion of around 60 horses from the Mullins yard owned by Ryanair owner Michael O’Leary after a dispute over stable fees.
