“THE INSIDE MAN” – Jamie’s National Hunt runners

Friend of Money Rider & MPR Syndicate owner Jamie Brownlow give us the lowdown on his National Hunt runners

“Well the start of the National Hunt season is just around the corner. I have three horses ready this season and hopefully might add one more to the string. Then that’s it , we’re ready for an exciting NH season in any level whether it’s Grade one to Class 5, chaser or hurdler.

The three horses I’m involved with are starting a full NH season and I’m very excited about it. Especially given how they did, on there first or second run. Or just turning a corner so there form is getting better and better.

First horse in my string is called Oleg. Who is trained by Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls. He won very well on his UK debut run at Kelso, jumping over the hurdles very well. He beat a very good Donald McCain horse to win the race. On his second run at Chepstow he finish 2nd to a very progressive horse trained by Harry Whittington. Again Oleg jumped well through out. Now this season he will go over the big fences in the Novice division. In which I feel he will improve over them. He is a tall and strong horse and lots of scope going over fences. Plus I feel as well he will go further distances in his races over fences. He’s a lovely looking Grey as well so keep an eye out on him.

Father John…Give us a kiss!!

My second horse in my string is a horse called Father John. Who is trained by Nicky Henderson who is based at Severn Barrows at Lambourn. This fella has taken some time and patience, because he is a huge horse. He won very well in his only bumper race at Hexham. It was a great hand and heels ride from Nico de Boinville as well.

After Father John has won his race, he went away on his break. where he will be given time to strengthen up and fill his frame out. He’s a very exciting horse and he is a chaser in the making because of his scope etc. But in the mean time he will go over hurdles and will start over 2 miles plus. this suits him as he has a lot of stamina in his pedigree. Father John will be a work in progress through out this season but also one to follow in the future.

The third and final horse in my string is called Jen’s Boy. He is also trained by Nicky Henderson. This lad has turned a massive corner in his early career. Since stepping up in trip, in his races he has improve no end. He as also improve his jumping over hurdles as well. We’re hoping he will get decent ground in the season & he will win more races over hurdles. But I’m sure they will send him over fences in due time. But at the moment he’s been great over hurdles.

CONCLUSION

Keep a look out for Oleg this season. He be interesting how he does especially over fences this season. And how he does in a full National Hunt season with Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls.
